PunkNet77 - Carpettes

Newcastle based Carpettes was one of these wonderful first wave power pop bands, which soon get a deal with small but fresh Small Wonder. Line-up was: George Maddison (vocals, bass), Neil Thompson (vocals, guitar) and Kevin Heard (drums). Kevin was replaced by Tim Wilder soon after the first EP. The first two EP's did get good reviews and some air-play and that's why bigger indie-label Beggars Banquet did pick them up. Beggars did release two good, but not so well selling LP before the band broke up in 1981.
